Who we are

THROUGH CHALLENGE, PURPOSE EMERGED

Om Boys is more than just a clothing line – it’s a lifestyle. Our founder, Jesse Jeans, went through some hardships with personal health and found his zen in riding. Others find their zen through skating, surfing, or just plain ol’ chilling (We find our zen through living our best island-life!).

Whatever your zen, Om Boys is about finding that space where you can be you, and experience your lifstyle the way you want it – and look badass while doing it.

JESSE'S STORY

WHEN JESSE TURNED 26 HIS LIFE GAVE HIM A SERIOUS WAKE UP CALL.

He was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. A lot of people don’t know what that is, and most are uncomfortable to talk about having a Bowel disease, as it can be an embarrassing subject. But in fact, to stay private about bowel problems means that Crohns, Colitis, and IBS have all been “closet” diseases. Only those who live with Crohns, Colitis, IBS, or those who have loved ones afflicted with it are becoming familiar with the disease and the challenges posed by its presence.
But the time has come for people to talk openly about their Crohns, ulcerative colitis and IBS to find a cure. At first Jessie couldn’t cope with the news and didn’t know what to do, he was afraid of the outcome and the fear and stress made his symptoms much worse to the point of not being able to work or even leave his house & eventually hospitalization.

AT THIS POINT HE ONLY HAD 2 CHOICES.

Take prescription drugs with pages of side effects and consider a surgical procedure, or open his mind to alternative health education and change his lifestyle and diet.

JESSE DECIDED TO STUDY ALTERNATIVE HEALTH, SEEKING THE HELP OF NATUROPATIC DOCTORS.

This lead him to a healthy diet plan, which excluded gluten, dairy and refined sugars, combined with natural herbs. This was a great first step and within a few weeks, Jesse was in complete remission; but he eventually discovered that diet alone was not going to cure him, as he became very sick again within a couple of years.

Jesse then came to the realization that stress had been just as much of a factor with his illness as diet. So after some serious soul searching and with that thought in mind he started going to meditation, and listening to the teachings of a Tibetan Monk “Geshe Yongdong”.

THESE TEACHINGS ABOUT HEALING, LOVE, LIFE AND COMPASSION BECAME HIS INSPIRATION TO BECOME A BETTER PERSON AND LIVE A MORE BUDDHIST INSPIRED LIFE.

As humbling an experience as it was to become that sick, it was actually a blessing in disguise which was needed to awaken to the life he was supposed to live.

Happy & healthy Jesse is back to work now, running a successful clothing boutique with his beautiful family and he has been symptom free for many years now. He believes that combining a healing diet and taking the time daily to deal with your stress, you can and will heal yourself. There are many different ways people can deal with stress, whether that be through the power of meditation, yoga, hiking, sports, other forms of exercise, or whatever works best for you.

FOR JESSE , THE OPEN ROAD IS HIS MEDITATION.

Nothing frees his mind and keeps him more in the moment then taking out his custom Harley Davidson for a ride. After discovering inspirational brands like “Bikers for Autism” a group of riders who are always paying it forward; Jesse reached out to talented local artist, Teemu Hakala, the founder of “Black Label Tattoos”, local graphic print shop “Senini Graphics” and local seamstress June’s Tailor Shop to help him create designs combining fashion, meditation and the freedom of riding. This collaboration has resulted in the creation of the Life Style Brand “OM BOYS”.

Jesse’s intention for “OM BOYS” is to support a movement called “PROJECT OM” with proceeds going back to the community through Random Acts Of Kindness AKA “RAOK”.
